About Me:

My name is Nancy Thomas, and I am a physical therapist and mother of two college athletes, who lives and works in the northern Chicago suburbs.

I have been a P.T. for more than 20 years. My passion is working one-on-one with people who want to get better. I’ve been an endurance athlete and have competed in marathons and Iron Man triathlons, so I know pain and the importance of listening to your body. My goal is to help you achieve yours.

I received a B.S. in Pre-Professional Studies at the University of Notre Dame in 1989 and later earned a Masters of Physical Therapy (MPT) at Northwestern University in 1994. Since 2004 I have also been a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF).

I have 10+ years of Orthopedic Out-patient P.T. experience including 3+ years of home health, and I spent at least 5 years doing personal training out of my basement while my kids were little. Right after P.T. school, I worked 3 years at a hospital doing Acute Care Physical Therapy, I have performed Inpatient Rehabilitation at a variety of local rehab facilities, and I am a Former Director of Rehab (O.T./P.T./Speech) at a Chicago area hospital. Currently I am an out-patient Physical Therapist at Creative Rehab in Gurnee, in addition to treating clients in their homes.

I specialize in The Human Body, and have worked with all of the following at some point in my career: Women’s Health, Pregnancy related issues, Aquatic Therapy, Post-Joint Replacement, Post Surgical Knee, Ankle, Hip, Pelvis, Back, Neck, and Shoulder, as well as Stroke Rehab, Balance Disorders, Geriatric Rehab, and Chronic Pain. If it doesn't move, let's get it moving. If it moves, let's make it work more efficiently.
